A Dental Crown Procedure That’s Faster and Safer
Among the 200,000 dentists in the United States, only 7.5 percent perform onsite CEREC procedures. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, and with this technology, dentists can perform porcelain crown treatments, develop veneers and craft dental bridges in only one visit.
Dr. Derek B. Hauser, DDS, of Lakefront Family Dentistry is one of the most respected names in cosmetic dentistry in Riverside County. Along with his staff of registered dental hygienists, he uses the latest techniques to perform a number of cosmetic procedures, as well as making your custom dental crown and placing it in one visit! Our office welcomes individuals and patients, and we treat a range of demographics from very young to senior citizens. If you’re considering a dental crown procedure, Call (951) 244-9495 or Request an Appointment Online Today!

Porcelain Crown Procedures are Quick, Safe and Effective
Unlike traditional dental crown treatments, CEREC crowns are not developed at an offsite lab. Instead, Dr. Hauser uses a 3-dimensional camera to take pictures of your teeth. A computer then produces a blueprint or a list of design specifications for how your porcelain crown will be developed. Then, a milling device crafts your crown under the supervision and control of Dr. Hauser.
This process offers a number of benefits compared to traditional veneers:
- A porcelain crown is developed in one appointment, which saves you, the patient, precious time. In traditional treatments, the process can take up to two weeks and requires several visits.
- The porcelain crown is attached during the first visit, so there’s no need for temporary dental caps. In traditional procedures, bacteria can get under these caps and cause infection. This is not a risk with CEREC technology.
- These dental crowns are not composed of metal, so they look more like your natural teeth more than gold or alloy crowns.
- Porcelain crowns offer a stronger bond than many other materials.
Porcelain Crowns Are a Comfortable and Match Your Natural Teeth
These custom dental crowns are designed to feel and look like your natural teeth. Several hues are available to color your crowns to match the color of your smile. The computer-assisted design produces incredibly accurate impressions of your teeth, and the breakthrough milling technology is very precise. When your crowns are attached, they will be virtually indistinguishable from your existing teeth. You can eat, floss and brush with your porcelain crown just like you would before the procedure. Not only will your teeth feel natural, but they may even be more comfortable than they were before the procedure!
Porcelain Crown Treatments Are Ideal for a Range of Patients
Dr. Hauser will help you decide the right course of action to reach your cosmetic goals. A thorough analysis is necessary to find the treatment that can produce your dream smile.
