IMPLANTS FOR TEETH LAST LONGER THAN OUTDATED TECHNOLOGY

Who Might Need Teeth Implants

Our teeth serve many purposes. They help us chew, talk and converse. Thus, they are not merely there for aesthetic reasons. However, most of us take them for granted and do not regret doing so until they have broken down or literally fallen out of our mouths.

Dr. Hauser teaches other dentists about the advanced techniques of placing dental implants and the best material to use for their patients. He is one of the most referred cosmetic dentist specialist in Riverside County, California.

If you want to meet with Dr. Hauser for a free consultation regarding implants for your teeth, call (951) 244-9495 or make an appointment right now on our site.

Factors That Influence Tooth Loss

Tooth loss can be caused by a number of factors. Here is a brief list of common causes.

  • Missing Teeth

This is a condition wherein the primary tooth is not succeeded by its permanent counterpart. This can be cause by trauma to the area during tooth bud development and at times, genetics.

  • Carious Lesions

A carious lesion that remains untreated can spread. This can compromise the tooth structure and cause breakage.

  • Periodontal Disease

Once plaque and tartar invade the gum line, they may travel deep into the socket to cause periodontal pockets. Bacteria will attack the supporting structures and loosen the tooth in time.

  • Trauma

A fall or any type of force to the area can loosen a tooth or dislodge it from the socket completely. If this happens, it should be re-implanted right away.

How Tooth Loss is Treated

We dream of a time when a dentist can correct the problem by willing a new tooth to appear magically. However, dentures and implants for teeth are the best options we have at present.

While one might think that dentures are a cheaper option, think again. If you consider the difference between denture and teeth implants cost, please remember that dentures require adhesive paste, which you should buy regularly.

A person who has dentures must have them re-lined regularly, as they tend to loosen in time. Tooth implants are cheaper in the long run.

Teeth implants feel like real dentition and are attached the same way. If you worry about tissue rejection, please note that titanium posts are used. They are biocompatible, to the point that they can fuse to the bone in a few years.

Dr. Hauser is a CEREC specialist. Therefore, he only uses crowns made of this material. It can be fabricated in less than 20 minutes at his private practice and looks natural as well. The best part is that it can last for about 10-20 years with proper oral care.

So if you think that teeth implants cost a lot of money, please keep in mind that they can last for a lifetime, if you take care of them properly.

Who Can Have Teeth Implants?

While everyone who has lost a tooth would want dental implants, they are not for everyone. A good candidate for the procedure is a person with no diseases that can affect his or her immune response. He or she should be a non-smoker as well, since people who smoke are at a higher risk for implant failure.

Bone density is another concern. People with extreme recession may not have implants put in place right away. However, they can undergo a grafting procedure, wherein allogenic or alloplastic material is inserted to make up for the lack of density. Even so, please note that a healing period of about 6 months is necessary before a dentist can insert the dental implants.

Dental implants feel just like real dentition, making them the best for aesthetic and functional purposes.  If you want to know more about implants for teeth and feel that you are a likely candidate for the procedure, please call and talk to one of our patient coordinators (951) 244-9495 or make an appointment to meet with Dr. Hauser online.
