Straighten Teeth for a Healthier Mouth
In some parts of the world, people prefer crooked bites because it is supposed to make one look younger and innocent. While we in no way undermine their aesthetic preferences, they should know that malocclusion can lead to other problems. Luckily, there are many ways to straighten teeth when they come to their senses.
Doctor Hauser‘s Preferred Ways To Straighten Teeth
Dr. Hauser is the Inland Empire’s most preferred dentist. In fact, many of his patients travel long distances because they prefer his practice over other dentists in their immediate area. He runs a dental practice that takes pride in providing only the best treatment options.
When it comes to patients who want straighter teeth, he provides only two options, Invisalign and veneers and/or crowns. He prefers either of these options because both these treatments provide the best results.
Invisalign
Traditional braces are not as popular these days because they pose a greater threat to the dentition and surrounding tissues. Some people are allergic to the metal components and may develop inner cheek rashes or ulcers. Other patients may be sensitive to the bands used to hold the wires in place.
Invisalign is the latest in orthodontic and cosmetic dentistry. It involves the use of clear, wafer-thin aligners, which provides gentle force over time. These aligners give patients the orthodontic treatment they want without having to wear metal brackets and wires, which also affects our self-esteem.
This appliance is removable, making it the best option for patients who cannot give up their corn on the cob, steak, and bubble gum addiction. Since patients can remove the appliance, they will have no difficulty with regard to brushing and flossing as well. Therefore, they are less likely to develop gum disease or cavities.
Dr. Hauser prefers this treatment option over traditional braces because he feels that it is safer for the patient and will provide the needed orthodontic movement without putting oral health at risk. It is also much more conservative, as bracket removal may entail scraping away some enamel from the surface of the tooth.
CEREC Veneers and/or CEREC Crowns
This method of treatment is best for patients who want instant results. Veneers and crowns can be used to straighten teeth in one dental visit. Both can be fabricated on-site, as Lakefront Family Dentistry uses CEREC technology with an in-house lab.
The CAD/CAM machine can create one veneer or crown in under 15 minutes. This will mean straighter teeth in one or two visits. As an added bonus, patients can choose a lighter shade, making his or her smile instantly brighter without the need for bleaching those teeth at all.
Please note, in cases where the malocclusion is far more severe than a Class 1, Dr. Hauser will suggest Invisalign over veneers or crowns. This is because a patient with severe malocclusion may experience TMJ problems in the long run.
