HOW TO BRUSH – CLASSES BEGIN AT AN EARLY AGE

Teaching Your Child How to Brush

Some children pick up brushing their teeth easily, and others might not understand how important it is to get all their teeth—front and back. A great way to help them understand proper brushing techniques is to find some videos on YouTube or the Internet.

The videos available online today really cover the entire A-Z brushing challenges and proper techniques. It also helps a child become excited about doing a great job and they can visualize the process much better through the videos.

Rewarding children at a young age with stars or stickers each day on a wall calendar helps them understand their goals are as important as the parents being proud of them for this healthy accomplishment. It also sets them up for a life of healthy gums with fewer or no cavities.

Depending upon your child’s age, you can also go to Google and type in: cartoon character how to brush your teeth. There are plenty of creative, fun videos that will keep a child engaged and excited to learn how to brush their teeth correctly.

Ask Dr. Derek Hauser and His Team How to Brush

Almost all the staff at Lakefront Family Dentistry has children, including Dr. Hauser. Having a dental education, experience and children at home make them the perfect candidates to teach your children how to brush properly, too.

The team will show kids how to remove the most amount of plaque with very specific techniques that is more difficult to learn just through videos alone. Give them “hands on” experience and let them ask questions from the professionals. Once they learn the right way, it’s like riding a bicycle—they never forget again.

Do I Need a Pediatric Dentist?

It’s always a great idea to check out online reviews, specifically on Google and Yelp and see what others think about a potential dentist. Dr. Hauser has treated thousands of children over the last 20 years, but you can actually call and interview him directly to see if he will be a good fit for your child and family if you have any concerns before committing to a practice.

If a child has specific physical limitations, a dentist will want to make sure and be prepared. Call Dr. Hauser’s office and ask questions and let them know what you need. If there is a better fit, Dr. Hauser will always refer a patient to a specialist if a situation cannot be met at his specific private practice. However, in most cases, Lakefront Family Dentistry can satisfy most children’s needs since they have the latest technology and facility.
